Among the players set to take part in Football World, several Brazilian football legends stand out. Who are they? Let’s find out together.

Maicon: the Brazilian Colossus
Maicon Douglas Sisenando, known simply as Maicon, is considered one of the best full-backs of his generation. Nicknamed The Colossus for his physical strength and defensive skills, he played for Inter Milan from 2006 to 2012, playing a key role in the club’s legendary Treble victory in 2010.
With the Brazilian national team, he won two Copa América titles and two Confederations Cups.

Amauri: from Palermo to Juventus, a striker of quality
Born in 1980, Amauri de Oliveira is a Brazilian forward known in Italy as Calimero, where he spent much of his career. A powerful and fast centre-forward, he distinguished himself for his technical ability and finishing.
After short spells at Parma, Napoli, and Piacenza, he moved to Palermo in 2006, where he truly made his mark: in just two seasons, he scored 23 goals, helping the team qualify for the UEFA Cup.
In 2008, he transferred to Juventus, where he played for three seasons.

Polga: A World Champion in defence
A defensive powerhouse, Ânderson Polga spent most of his career with Sporting CP in Portugal, where he won two domestic cups and two Super Cups.
He earned his first call-up to the Brazilian national team at the age of 23, and just a few months later was selected for the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan, where he became a World Champion.
